Stool / coffee table Pipe Insulation foam, 14mm and 12mm MDF sheet, 8mm transparent acrylic sheet This duel-function module was created as part of my studies. It was an exercise in designing a sitting corner for the exhibition area of my school of architecture. My aim was to create a cheap, quick and easy to manufacture piece of furniture, using the materials and visual language found in the immediate surroundings: the same insulation foam is used for the pipes running along the ceiling, unpainted MDF sheets feature in doors and partitions throughout the building, and glass (echoed here by Perspex) abounds. Using a large number of identical modules would enable numerous possibilities of arranging and re-arranging the space for different functions and occasions.
